Decatenated Kinetoplast DNA (KDNA): A marker for Topo II Assays
TopoGEN supplies you with a decatenated form of KDNA for use as a marker with the topo II assay kit. Highly purified topo II is used to release the minicircles which show up as two bands: Nicked 2.5 kb DNA rings and relaxed (circular) 2.5 kb KDNA minicircles. The ratios between these two forms varies but usually the nicked species is more prevalent.
